Department of Library and Information Services

The College Library and Information Services Department is one of the two primary resource centres of the College, the other one being the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Centre. The College Library is as old as the College itself. It has some of the latest collection of a variety of textbooks, scientific publications such as journals, conference books of proceedings and magazines on all aspects of agriculture. In addition, there are varieties of reference materials – dictionaries and encyclopaedia, and newspapers. The College staff are members of various professional associations in the various arms of agriculture. These associations hold professional conferences yearly, and the staff attending these conferences do return with journals and conference proceedings published by these associations to enrich the College Library. In addition, the College purchases new books and other publications to add to the Library collections yearly.

The College Library serves as a resource base from where staff update their lecture materials periodically. In addition, it facilitates the research works of the academic staff. The students benefit immensely from the library resources in their studies and in conducting their research projects. The Library is usually involved in the orientation courses organized yearly by the Students’ Affairs Office of the College for newly admitted students. The Library exposes the students to its cataloguing system and other sections to enable them to find library materials they may need from time to time. In addition, the College Library provides book binding and photocopying services to the College community and the general public.
